Firstly, welcome back! We were thrilled to return to school and discover that our resident Blue Tit had completed her nest. Even more exciting, seven eggs had been laid. By the start of school, five had hatched, with a sixth chick making its debut during the day. That means just one egg to go!
Our pupils have been mesmerised watching Daddy Blue Tit tirelessly bringing food to the nest, which Mummy Blue Tit then carefully feeds to their chicks – now only around two days old. It’s been a magical opportunity to witness nature up close.
Year 5 have continued with their Bird Watch sessions, and we aim to give as many children as possible the chance to meet the newest (and most adorable!) members of our school community.
