At King’s Academy Rowner, we love finding ways to help our community and care for the environment – even with our sweet tooth! Thanks to the brilliant efforts of Mrs Whiting, we’ve been collecting tubs of sweets left over from Christmas and putting them to good use.

Rather than letting these plastic tubs go to waste, Mrs Whiting has been delivering them to the White Hart Pub, located at the top of Stoke Road. The pub has a recycling initiative in place to ensure these tubs are recycled responsibly – a fantastic way to reduce plastic waste!

If you have any leftover sweet tubs at home and can’t repurpose them (although they do make great storage containers!), why not drop them off at the White Hart? They’ll be collecting tubs for recycling throughout February. Alternatively, you’re welcome to bring them into school, and we’ll ensure they are delivered to the pub for you.

Thank you for helping us support this initiative and for doing your bit to help the planet. Together, we can make a big difference, one sweet tub at a time!

Let’s keep recycling!
