Last week, our children enjoyed a Design and Technology lesson focused on healthy and sustainable eating. The session began with the children exploring a range of ingredients. They carefully looked at, smelled and tasted different foods, discussing whether they found them appealing and explaining their reasons. This encouraged them to think about the choices they make and the importance of trying new foods.
Using the ingredients they enjoyed most, the children then designed and made their own healthy wraps. They carefully selected fillings and created tasty combinations using fresh salad along with chicken or ham.
As well as developing their food preparation skills, the lesson helped children understand how healthy food choices can contribute to a balanced lifestyle and how thoughtful food choices can support a more sustainable future.
The children thoroughly enjoyed the experience and were very proud of their delicious creations!
