Year 5 recently enjoyed a very special moment as they released their butterflies after carefully observing their incredible life cycle journey in class. As part of their Science learning about the life cycles of animals, the children watched in fascination as the caterpillars grew, formed chrysalises and eventually emerged as beautiful butterflies. Releasing them into the wild was an exciting opportunity for the children to see their learning come to life.
The experience helped the children develop a deeper understanding of growth, change and the natural world around them. They showed great care and responsibility while looking after the butterflies throughout the project.
Please note: the children pictured were taking part in a non-school uniform day.
What a memorable way to bring our Science learning to life!
