King’s Academy Rowner continues to allocate funds to a range of sporting activities and equipment, which provide better opportunities for all pupils to develop their Physical Education skills and enhance their opportunities throughout their time with us. It is important to the school that our pupils have opportunities to experience sports which may not ordinarily be available to them out of school.
King’s Academy Rowner was awarded the Bronze School Games Mark for 2024/25. This is recognition of our commitment to school sport and physical activity. This Government-led award, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust, celebrates schools that go above and beyond in promoting competition and participation both within school and the wider community.

For context, the UK government allocates PE and Sport Premium funding to primary schools based on the number of pupils in years 1 to 6. Schools with 17 or more eligible pupils receive a base amount of £16,000, plus an additional £10 per pupil. Therefore, the total funding for King’s Academy Rowner in 2024-2025 was £18 190. We take pride in offering a rich and inclusive sporting curriculum. We champion those children with a natural sporting flair and ensure those who need extra encouragement are supported every step of the way. Our extra-curricular clubs are thriving and available to all.
