Chestnut Class had a fantastic day yesterday, immersing themselves in the world of Ancient Greece, bringing history to life through a range of engaging activities. The day began with pupils learning about the origins of the Olympic Games, comparing the Ancient Olympics with those we know today. They then put their learning into action by taking part in a range of sporting activities, showing great enthusiasm and teamwork. Next, pupils completed their Greek pottery, creating stunning pieces inspired by traditional designs. Their use of geometric shapes and patterns was particularly impressive, and the finished work looked amazing. The class then explored what people ate in Ancient Greece by investigating coprolite (fossilised remains), before moving on to a much more appetising activity – food tasting! The day ended with pupils making their own delicious Greek salad, linking their learning to real-life experiences.
