It was wonderful to see so many children at King’s Academy Rowner celebrating World Book Day. Pupils arrived dressed as a fantastic range of book characters, and many also chose to come in their snuggly pyjamas and cosy Oodies, creating the perfect atmosphere for a day full of reading.

Throughout the day, classes took part in a variety of activities focused on celebrating books and the joy of reading. The comfortable reading outfits certainly helped everyone settle in with a good story.

We also held a special World Book Day assembly, where pupils learned about the origins of books and storytelling. It was a great opportunity to reflect on how books have been shared throughout history and to remind ourselves how fortunate we are today to be able to read and to have access to so many wonderful books. Thank you to families for supporting the day. It was lovely to see such enthusiasm for reading across the school.
