At King’s Academy Rowner, we value the voices of our children and the important role our governors play in shaping our school community. Yesterday, Ms Browne, one of our school governors with oversight for Behaviour and Attitudes, met with our Pupil Voice representatives from across the school. The children engaged in a thoughtful and honest discussion, sharing their experiences of school life, how supported they feel, and how behaviour is managed. They spoke with confidence and clarity, highlighting the strong support they receive from the adults across our school. Ms Browne shared the children’s feedback at our governor meeting last night. One key reflection from the discussion was how some children found the recent fire drill a little unsettling. As a bell-free school, the sound of the fire alarm came as a surprise to some, despite having been briefed on evacuation procedures. This has prompted us to consider how we can further prepare and support our children in these situations. We are incredibly proud of our children for their thoughtful contributions and will continue to ensure that their voices help shape our school environment. A huge thank you to Ms Browne for her time, insight, and ongoing support.
