Year 5 have been working incredibly hard on their latest English unit, taking inspiration from the classic adventure story Robinson Crusoe. After drafting, editing and refining their work, the children proudly published their own diary entries. The diaries show off a wide range of Year 5 writing skills, including using rich vocabulary to describe settings, applying fronted adverbials to add detail, and using paragraphs to organise ideas. The children also practised writing in role, carefully considering how Crusoe might have felt as he faced survival on a deserted island. The children are rightly proud of their published pieces and so are we! Well done, Year 5, a super example of how hard work, perseverance, and imagination come together in writing.
