Twelve of our Year 5 pupils took on an exciting LEGO League Challenge this year, exploring the theme ‘Submerged’. Once the specialist LEGO kit arrived, the children split into two enthusiastic teams and began thinking creatively about the hidden world beneath the sea. Over several weeks, they explored how we can protect our planet’s waters which included cleaning up rivers and lakes to designing devices that care for the seabed. Using their Spike kits and applying our Gosport Futures alongside LEGO’s core values, the teams designed and built some truly innovative solutions.
This year, we set them a new goal: instead of a traditional showcase poster, they created digital presentations using Google Slides to share their design journey. Their commitment, collaboration, and creativity shone through every step of the way. Mr Connor and Mrs Held couldn’t be prouder of what both teams have achieved – well done, Year 5!
