Our vision: opportunity and success on a global stage.

Our aim: growing leaders, learners & citizens.

Our values: honesty, faith and courage.

We are  a school community which engenders and values a love of lifelong learning by:

  • maintaining a challenging and relevant curriculum
  • providing leading-edge learning opportunities to prepare our learners for tomorrow’s world
  • championing a culture in which children are keen to strive for success, prepared to take risks and learn from their mistakes
  • actively involving parents/carers in children’s learning

Everyone in our school community is cared for unconditionally and valued equally as a unique person. In our learning, in our work, in our relationships and through the ethos of our community, we are committed to aiming for success in everything we do.

Our Aim

This commitment is evident in our curriculum which encourages critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration. We provide opportunities for our pupils to take on leadership roles, whether through student councils or classroom responsibilities. Our learning environment is designed to be engaging and supportive, promoting a love of learning and a curiosity about the world. Additionally, we emphasise the importance of citizenship by instilling values of respect, empathy, and community involvement through various projects and activities. This holistic approach ensures that our pupils are well-prepared to contribute positively to society.

Our Values

‘Our values, honesty, faith and courage, are underpinned by our Rowner Responsibilities and British Values.’

  1. We have a responsibility to listen and a right to learn and be safe.
  2. We have a responsibility to treat people kindly and respect them for who they are.

  4. We have a responsibility to look after our own, each other’s and school property.
  5. We have a responsibility to try our best in every lesson.
  6. We have a responsibility to use polite words and show good manners.
  7. We have a responsibility to adhere to the ‘Gomer Standard’ in terms of tolerance and respecting individual liberty alongside accepting each other’s rights of opinion.

Rewards for Good Behaviour and/or Learning

Regular praise and encouragement is part of the school ethos. In addition to this, behaviour which supports the school’s values is celebrated by:

  • Positive praise is purposeful and used extensively across the school.
  • Adults will identify pupils that have displayed the Gosport Futures in all areas of their school life. These are then recorded daily on Arbor and are reported to parents regularly through either parents meetings and reports.
  • Growing Learners, Growing Leaders, Growing Citizens: Adults will identify pupils who are displaying these characteristics across all aspects of school life. These are also linked to the Gosport Futures e.g Growing learner: aiming high. These are celebrated weekly in our celebration assemblies.
  • In our ‘weekly’ celebration assemblies, pupils who have been identified as Growing learners, leaders or citizens, will have their names read out and the whole school celebrates the successes of these individuals.
  • If a child’s success has been shared with the school in the celebration assembly, this is then shared with parents through the sending of an e mail
  • Staff regularly share successes with parents (phonecalls home, speaking to parents on the playground).
