Today, we proudly took part in the Let Girls Play football event—a national initiative aimed at encouraging more girls to get involved in football. With International Women’s Day one sleep away, this was the perfect opportunity to inspire, empower, and celebrate the fantastic girls in our school through sport! A huge thank you to Mr Hill, who organised an outstanding lunchtime football session. 61 girls chose to take part, enjoying a carousel of football activities designed to develop:
⚽ Key skills
⚽ Teamwork
⚽ Shooting technique
⚽ Match play experience
We were delighted to be joined by our local MP, Dame Caroline Dinenage, who got fully involved in the action! She bravely took a turn in goal and even had a go at scoring. The final match score? Rowner vs. Dame Caroline: 5-1 to the school! 🎉🏆
It was brilliant to see half of the girls in our school joining in—an amazing achievement! We hope this event has inspired many of them to continue playing regularly. Well done, everyone!
