During Service Club this week, pupils began creating pom-pom dandelions as part of this year’s Month of the Military Child Service Cluster community project.
The children showed enthusiasm as they started making their colourful pom-poms. Once completed, the dandelions will be taken to the Community Hub on Military Road, alongside pupils from King’s Group Academies Brune Park, where they will be displayed outside the hub for the public to see.
The dandelion is a powerful symbol for military families. Just like the flower’s seeds travel far and wide, military children often move locations and adapt to new communities, showing great resilience along the way. It was wonderful to see how keen the pupils were to contribute to this meaningful community project and create something that celebrates and recognises the experiences of military children.
