Ramadan began this year at sunset on the evening of Tuesday 17 February 2026, with the first day of fasting on Wednesday 18 February 2026 (subject to the sighting of the moon). The month is expected to conclude around Thursday 19 March 2026.

For Muslims across the world and within our local community, Ramadan is a sacred month marked by fasting from dawn until sunset, alongside prayer, reflection and charitable giving. It is a time that encourages patience, gratitude and compassion for others. Many families begin the day with suhoor, a pre-dawn meal, and come together at sunset for iftar, when the fast is traditionally broken with dates and water before sharing an evening meal. These daily rhythms create meaningful moments of connection and community.

As a school, we recognise that some pupils and families in our community will be observing Ramadan. We are committed to being understanding and supportive during this period, and we value the opportunity to celebrate the diversity of our community. We extend our warm wishes to all those observing Ramadan and hope the month brings peace, reflection and well-being to you and your families.
