Today our children embraced the Be Bright, Be Seen message brilliantly and didn’t they look fantastic? From bold neons to reflective accessories, the classrooms and corridors were filled with colour, sparkles and high-vis flair. More importantly, the day reinforced such an essential message: staying safe and visible as the darker months draw in.

At this time of year, visibility on the roads is crucial. Whether walking, cycling or scooting, wearing something bright or reflective helps drivers spot children more easily. Small choices, a bright jacket, a reflective band, a bag charm or even colourful laces can make a real difference.

A huge well done to all our pupils for taking part with such enthusiasm, and thank you to families for supporting this important safety reminder. Our children not only looked fabulous, but they also showed real understanding of how to keep themselves safe.

🚴 Bling Your Ride Competition

We also held our Bling Your Ride competition, which was open to all children at King’s Academy Rowner. Pupils decorated their:

  • Bikes
  • Scooters
  • Wheelchairs
  • School bags

Ribbons, coloured card, stickers, lights, tinsel and many other bright materials were used to fit the Be Bright, Be Seen theme. The colourful creations made a fantastic sight as they arrived at school.

All items were labelled with the child’s name and class for judging, and prizes and certificates will be awarded on Monday for the brightest and most creative designs.

Stay bright, stay seen, and stay safe, Team Rowner!
