For their final COJOs mission in the unit on Nancy Wake, themed ‘Do what’s easy and your life will be hard’, our Year 6 pupils took on a teamwork challenge inspired by Nancy’s brave journey across the Pyrenees mountains.

Although the weather meant this mission had to take place indoors, the children’s determination and creativity was evident. Working in teams, they designed tricky mountain “paths” on the tables and guided a ball of paper along the route using only the ends of their pens. Each time a team member stopped touching the paper, it was the next person’s turn, which required focus, communication, and patience.

Most teams managed to complete the course successfully, but the challenge intensified when the paper ball was swapped for a marble! This called for even greater control and coordination, as many teams discovered how hard it was to keep their marble on track without crossing the lines.

Year 6 thoroughly enjoyed their COJOs last half term, developing vital teamwork, resilience, and problem-solving skills. They are already looking forward to their next set of missions!
