This term, Year 6 have been taking part in COJOs, inspired by the incredible story of Nancy Wake, a female spy from World War II famously known as the ‘White Mouse’.

Earlier in the term, the children explored what it might be like to act like a spy and even practised avoiding interrogation. This week, their challenge took a new twist as they were introduced to Morse Code. Working in teams, one half had the code for each letter, while the other half were given a word written in Morse Code. Each group then had to decide their own symbols to represent dots, dashes, and the end of a letter. From a distance, they used hand and arm signals to spell out their secret code words.

It was a real test of communication and teamwork. Some groups found it tricky to spot the individual letters, while others became confident codebreakers by the end. A brilliant effort, Year 6.
