Over the past few weeks, Year 6 pupils have been working on an exciting music project: creating their very own piece of Grime music using an online music studio programme.
Each week, we’ve added a new layer to our tracks. We began by composing the drumbeat, thinking carefully about the types of drums that best suit the Grime genre and experimenting with different rhythms. Next, we introduced the bass, making sure it matched the 140 bpm tempo and was in C minor – a key feature of Grime music. Most recently, we’ve reached the stage of adding acapella voice tracks to complement our compositions.
The children have thoroughly enjoyed the creative process so far and are now looking forward to the final stage: mixing and adding effects to bring their tracks to life!
