This term, Year 3 have been diving into the fascinating world of Ancient Egyptian mummification – and what better way to bring history to life than by acting it out themselves?

The children took on a variety of roles as they re-enacted the mummification process. Some became embalmers, carefully preparing the body; others were surgeons, tasked with removing the organs. We had expert mummifiers, wrapping the body in layers of bandages, and of course, some very important pharaohs, who were mummified and made ready for the afterlife!

It was a brilliant opportunity for the children to immerse themselves in their history learning. They showed fabulous creativity, teamwork, and speaking skills throughout the experience. Well done, Year 3 – what a fantastic way to bring history to life!
