Today, we had a special visit from Bike It John for an important assembly on air pollution. He helped us understand what air pollution is, and many of our pupils already had great knowledge about its causes!

John also shared the results of our recent air quality testing, which was carried out using diffusion tubes and a ‘Lichen Hunt’ led by our fantastic Junior Road Safety Officers, Gabriella and Dylan-Lee. We were shocked to discover that the air quality within our school grounds exceeds the World Health Organisation’s recommended levels.

Following this eye-opening discovery, we worked together to share ideas on how we can help reduce air pollution and improve the air we breathe. A huge thank you to Bike It John and our brilliant JRSOs for their efforts in investigating this important issue!

🚶‍♂️🚲 Get Ready for The Big Walk and Wheel! 🛴🏃

Starting next week, from 24th March to 4th April, we’ll be taking part in The Big Walk and Wheel—the UK’s biggest active travel challenge! Pupils across the country will compete to see which school can record the most walking, wheeling, scooting, and cycling journeys.

To make it even more exciting, we have some fantastic school events planned, including:
🏆 Inter-class Jasper the Bear competition
🔑 The Golden Lock challenge
🎨 A poster competition

Let’s get moving and make a difference—one journey at a time!
