To mark British Science Week, our Year 3 pupils took part in an exciting hands-on rainbow experiment. During the lesson, we explored the scientific term ‘density’ and investigated how different liquids behave depending on how tightly packed their molecules are. Through our observations, we discovered that liquids with a higher density sink, while those with a lower density float on top. Putting our learning into action, we carefully layered honey, washing-up liquid, water, and oil to create our very own vibrant rainbow in a jar! It was a fantastic way to see science in action and develop our understanding of key scientific principles. Well done, Year 3, for your curiosity and enthusiasm.
