At King’s Academy Rowner, we take pride in our school community, and a key part of that is our school uniform. A consistent approach to uniform not only enhances children’s sense of identity and self-esteem but also positively impacts behaviour and prepares pupils for learning. It ensures fairness by preventing differentiation based on clothing. Our uniform policy has been thoughtfully designed to be affordable and accessible. The most recent update, shared with families in multiple newsletters and available on our website, was approved in July 2024. We appreciate the efforts of parents and carers who ensure their children wear the correct uniform every day – it’s wonderful to see. For those who may have slipped, children will be politely reminded of our expectations, and we kindly ask parents and carers to respect our rules by supporting their child in meeting them. We understand there can sometimes be challenges, and we’re here to help if you’re facing difficulties in providing the required uniform. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if needed.

Why Uniform Matters

  • Identity & Self-Esteem: Wearing uniform fosters a sense of belonging and pride.
  • Focus & Behaviour: Uniform sets a tone for learning and respectful behaviour.
  • Fairness: It ensures equality among students by reducing distractions related to clothing.

Key Reminders:

  • Winter uniform includes black tailored trousers or skirts, white shirts or blouses, and burgundy jumpers or cardigans with our logo.
  • Summer uniform is optional from Easter to October half-term.
  • PE kits are worn on PE days – details are in the school calendar.
  • Please refer to our full Uniform Policy for details, including acceptable hairstyles and jewellery.

Thank you for supporting our school in upholding these standards. Together, we can maintain a unified and positive environment for all our children to thrive. If you have any questions or need assistance with uniforms, feel free to reach out. And, as per our January newsletter our branded uniform provider, from April, will be Print & Sew on Stoke Road.
