During their maths learning, Year 3 embraced their creativity during a fun and engaging maths lesson all about fractions! As an introduction to fractions, the children used watercolours to represent unit fractions in different and imaginative ways. They visualised real-life examples of fractions, such as doughnuts, pizzas, and cakes, bringing the concept to life in a way that was both fun and relatable. Alongside their artistic exploration, the children also delved into key mathematical vocabulary, learning the important terms numerator and denominator. This hands-on approach helped to build a strong foundation for their understanding of fractions. Well done, Year 3, for your fantastic effort and creativity – we can’t wait to see how your fraction skills grow throughout the term!
