Last Friday, Year 5 enjoyed a magnificent visit to the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, stepping back in time to explore the rich history of our maritime past. At the Mary Rose Museum, the children were astounded to see their classroom learning brought to life as they discovered fascinating artefacts from the Tudor ship. They then embarked on a guided tour of HMS Victory, learning about life on board and even spotting the very place where Nelson fell after being shot. The children were in awe of the impressive HMS Warrior, where they had the chance to speak to costumed actors who shared vivid stories about their lives and experiences at sea. Throughout the day, the children demonstrated curiosity, asking thoughtful questions and immersing themselves in the history. They were fantastic ambassadors for our school, impressing all the adults with their enthusiasm and excellent behaviour. Well done, Year 5!
