This week, our Year 4 pupils participated in a beautiful Christingle service at St. Mary’s Church, Rowner, as part of their RE learning about Advent and the concept of anticipation. The children sang wonderfully, and those who led prayers did so with great clarity and confidence. Kirsty from the church led the service with warmth and enthusiasm, while Mrs. Mulhall delivered an inspiring talk on light and dark, encouraging everyone to reflect on its significance in our lives. Kirsty was full of praise for the children’s excellent behaviour and active participation throughout the service – even when the glow sticks temporarily failed! Thankfully, replacements were quickly found, and the celebration continued seamlessly. We were thrilled to welcome so many parents and carers, whose support added to the joy of the occasion. The Christingle service is a treasured tradition in our school calendar, and this year’s event was a special community gathering. With huge thanks to Matthew’s Greengrocers for kindly donating the oranges for our service. Their shop is fabulous and comes with our recommendation: https://www.facebook.com/matthewsgreengrocer/ Thank you to everyone who made it such a memorable occasion!
