At King’s Academy Rowner, we’ve been shining a light on the importance of being bright and being seen, especially during these darker months. Last week, Gabriella, one of our fabulous Year 5 JRSOs (Junior Road Safety Officers), led an inspiring assembly all about staying safe and visible when out and about in the dark. Her message was clear: Be Bright, Be Seen! Yesterday, to spread awareness, we held a special non-uniform day where staff and children came to school wearing their brightest clothes. The school was awash with neon and vibrant colours as we united to promote this crucial road safety message.
Adding to the fun, the children took part in an exciting ‘Bling Your Ride’ competition. They were challenged to customise their bikes, scooters, or bags with creative and eye-catching decorations based on the ‘Be Bright, Be Seen’ theme. The energy and imagination on display were fantastic! We were delighted to welcome Bike It John to help our JRSOs judge the competition. Together, they awarded certificates and prizes to the winners – well done to everyone who took part, and congratulations to our super creative winners! A huge thank you to our JRSOs, staff, and families for supporting this important initiative. Let’s all remember to Be Bright, Be Seen!
