Year 5’s current art unit is focused on sculptors and environmental art. Over the past few weeks, the children have studied the artwork of very talented artists including Willard Wigan; who creates sculptures in the eye of a needle, and Andy Goldsworthy, who creates natural art. Using their artwork as inspiration, the children could collect up to five natural objects before using them to create a sculpture of their choice. Outcomes included people, scenic landscapes and houses. The children were impressed with their final pieces for the lesson!
