We love reading at Rowner and today was an opportunity to celebrate all things books! World Book Day promotes reading for pleasure and offering every child and young person the opportunity to have a book of their own (do try and spend your token). Reading for pleasure is the single biggest indicator of a child’s future success. We aim for all our children to develop a life-long habit of reading for pleasure. Today we encouraged this by celebrating books in different ways including: dressing-up, celebration book assembly, class-based activities and snuggling up with a book, in school, with our an adult from home. More photos to follow tomorrow…
