Year 5 have been learning about time zones as part of their Earth and Space unit in Science. They have looked at some webcams set up in different places across the globe to see what time of day it was. On one webcam in Florida, the children observed an awesome Bald Eagle looking after its hatchlings (eaglets). Last week when Hazel class had a look they realised an eaglet had hatched! The children (and adults) were very excited! We have been enjoying watching how fast the eaglet is growing since. If you would like to watch the footage yourself, please visit this link. It is an exciting and wonderful scene to see. Please note, as we do at school, it is always worth checking the cam before sharing directly with children. Sometimes the Eagles can be viewed having returned from a period of hunting – the hunted can look a bit gruesome.
