John from the bicycle charity Sustrans visited us yesterday. His whole school assembly focused on bicycle safety and the importance of active travel. He also spent some time doing a Bike Doctor session where he completed checks on the bicycles brought into school. He checked if they were roadworthy and safe, did minor tweaks, and gave recommendations on any other maintenance that might need to be done. Thank you very much to John – very much appreciated! We have noticed that quite a few children cycling to school are doing so without a helmet. A bicycle helmet could make for a super practical Christmas gift.
