A firm highlight and privilege of the week was welcoming HRH The Princess Royal to the Gosport and Fareham Multi-Academy Trust on 1 November 2022 for the official Royal opening of the Gosport Community Hub. In addition to the whole of Rowner Junior School attending, all learners from Gomer Junior and representatives from Bay House and Brune Park and Gosport learners from the TS Hornet Sea Cadets lined the playground to welcome Princess Anne. Located at Brune Park Community School, the Hub supports families and children, particularly those from service families. It has been made possible by the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC) who has provided the funding. The Primary Phase were so excited ahead of Princess Anne’s visit and took pride in making bunting, and preparing art-work and gifts for her. On the day of the visit, the children’s presence created a wonderful atmosphere and the children greeted HRH with smiles and enthusiasm. Many happy memories were made that day and the children who talked to her represented the GFM superbly.
