For the first time, Rowner Junior entered Gosport in Bloom. The competition hasn’t run since 2019 so we were delighted to take part this year. We entered these categories: Wildlife Garden, Sensory Garden and Scarecrows. Judges take into consideration how healthy and well-maintained the plants are.  Along with a weed-free attractive setting that has minimal impact on natural resources and provides an attractive setting for wildlife. They were keen to talk to the children about their involvement with gardening also. The children were really proud to show off the Rowner Grounds yesterday and the judge thought the grounds looked beautiful. We explained that the bee garden had not matured but is underway. They loved showing off the bird feeders and many, many plants. The vegetable patch was a hit too. The children shared the broad beans with the judge ahead of showing off our beautiful hanging baskets by the music room.
