Two weeks ago today we had an awesome day of activity in the school grounds. Activities included:
- bug hotel removal and construction
- environmental art
- potting
- table and chair sanding and painting
- weeding
- shrub clearance
- sensory garden over-haul
- creation of wildflower and bee garden
- allotment tidying
- shed and fence painting
- vegetable patch weeding
- and more…
Due to the tremendous efforts of the community much was achieved and the grounds are looking great. The generosity, support, and kindness of our community in giving their time and hard efforts made the day a huge success. The work has continued and we look forward to sharing a before and after gallery to highlight the significant impact the day had. We may look to having a termly Groundforce Day due to the impact a day of activity can have. Furthermore, the children loved being outside and working alongside the adults. With thanks to everyone who made the day possible and for keeping the Rowner estate looking so fabulous. A special ‘shout out’ to James Driveways and landscapes who updated our Jubilee Garden superbly, Mr Christie and Mr Hole in creating our bee garden and Mrs Riches for helping us throughout the whole day and to the Family Lampard and Mr White for your work in the Hive garden and our vegetable patch. All awesome.
