Reading is a very important part of our curriculum at Rowner and we do lots of things to encourage children to read a range of books. The children in Y3-Y5 have just been given a new class reader for this half term. The children are excited to get tucked into the following books:

Year 5 are reading Kensuke’s Kingdom, Year 4 Survivors and Year 3 Cat Mummy. Parents/carers are encouraged to ask their children what they like about the book and which characters have they got to know. It’s pretty important that your child knows how to read, however not every child is naturally inclined to pick up a book. These tips might help you and your child.
