Year 3 are learning about the concept of ‘belonging’ within their RE learning. Just as they have been exploring how they identify with ‘belonging’ to their school they have been learning how Christians use ‘baptism’ to recognise ‘belonging’ and ‘welcoming’ to a Christian family. Thanks to the Rev. Jude at St Mary’s Church Rowner for hosting our baptism role-play, in which a baby doll pretended to be baptised. The children were delighted that they were invited to a post-baptism role-play tea part to remember that Christians might have a party to celebrate this special ceremony.
