Recently, Year 3 have had the opportunity to experience life as an archaeologist. After learning all about Howard Carter’s discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb in 1922, the children used their torches to explore what we believe it might have looked like. The children carefully made our way down the stairs, through the narrow, dimly lit passageways and into the antechamber, before exploring the burial chamber and the treasury. They looked in detail at a variety of artefacts that may have been found in the tomb, before working as a team to respond to some thought-provoking questions about the experience and knowledge gained.
