On Tuesday, Year 3 and Year 4 had a special visitor come to see them from the SEARCH museum. The children completed a workshop all about an exciting event happening this year…the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. The children started their session by finding out all about the timeline of the monarchy, starting at 1953 when the Queen had her coronation and ending in 2022 where we are now. Once the children had found out a little bit about the Queen’s history, they used their detective skills to find out a little bit more about the time she has reigned over. The children were lucky enough to have access to artefacts from the SEARCH museum to explore. They loved using their problem solving skills to find out what they might have been used for and the children’s speaking and listening skills were used to share thoughts… The children especially enjoyed having the chance to dress up like the monarchy! Finally, once the children had explored all of the artefacts, we used our observational drawing skills to present our favourite. Year 3 and Year 4 thoroughly enjoyed their morning. Thank you SEARCH Museum.
