Recently we have been liaising with the NHS Mental Health Support Team. They have recently led an assembly. These are their top tips to support sleep and rest:
1. Organise a bedtime routine: – what time will you go to bed? (this should be the same time each night and should allow you to get between 9 and 12 hours sleep)- what will you do before bed to help you relax and get ready for sleep? Some suggestions are : having a bath; reading a book; maybe a body scan – access some resources to help – here is a link
2. Make sure your room is a comfortable temperature for you to sleep.
3. Keep your room tidy and make sure your bed is made so that it is comfy and inviting.
4. Avoid screen for at least 30 minutes before bed as the lights from them stimulates our brain and so stops us from being able to fall asleep.
