Today, Rowner Junior School were provided with a defibrillator from Elizabeth Humphries from The Big Match Charity. Mrs Humprhies is pictured with Mrs Sharpe. A defibrillator is a device that gives a high energy electric shock to the heart of someone who is in cardiac arrest. This high energy shock is called defibrillation, and it’s an essential part in trying to save the life of someone who’s in cardiac arrest. The defibrillator will initially be based in school. However, we will be raising funds to secure a defibrillator box so that it can be available to our wider community.
The Big Match Charity supports local and national causes and has raised over £500,000 for charities and causes such as donating defibrillators into communities, school, nurseries and grassroot football clubs.
