Rowner Junior held their Christingle Service yesterday at the Rowner church the St Mary the Virgin. The service, in support of The Children’s Society was led by the Rev. Jude. The children sang superbly and were wonderfully behaved. There was not one complaint from the children following the downpour of rain during the walk to the church. Mrs Mulhall gave a talk which was linked to the ‘light’ in our community and linked to our learning around kindness. The children also talked about what they are looking forward to this Christmas. Four of our children read a prayer and our homemade Christingles looked beautiful when lit – the most special part of the service. With thanks to the children for collecting pennies for The Children Society, St. Mary the Virgin Church for hosting and to the Spar on Rowner Road for providing the oranges for our Christingles. This was such a lovely event it is now set to be an annual opportunity for all our Year 4 learners.
