We used our assembly time, yesterday and today, to prepare for our time of silence and reflection on Thursday. Our assembly tomorrow will further enable the children to fully understand who is being remembered on Remembrance Day, how and why. Today, we looked at national and local monuments, linked to the World Wars and identified why these are very important to individuals. Keen to create their own personalised item to help the Rowner community remember and reflect, the children were introduced to Rowner Remembrance Rocks today. Children across the school will have the opportunity to create a Remembrance Rowner Rock. The children will place them around our school locality for our neighbours to find. The children are really keen to do this to show important ‘Remembrance Day’ is to our school community. We will also be making a school based display.
